G- Gaga

"I wanted a new way to reinvent myself." There are a few different stories of how Lady Gaga got her stage name. Lady Gaga found her self in the New York Underground scene. Gaga Got her name from Queen's song "Radio Gaga." Her producer and boyfriend at the time: Rob Fusari would always start singing "Radio Gaga" whenever she walked into the studio because he thought her vocal style was a lot like the lead singer Freddie Mercury from Queen.

At first it was just a nick name used by her friends, then by the time she was starting to preform she knew she needed a new name more fitting to her life. Rob was trying to text Radio Gaga and his phone corrected it to Lady and sent it to gaga. She Loved it! "Gaga is sort of crazy and Lady has such connotations." From that day she decided that she would be known as Lady Gaga.
Rob helped get her career started, he helped write Beautiful Dirty Rich, Disco Heaven, Dirty Ice cream, and the biggest hit he was apart of is Paparazzi. In 2010 Rob attempted to file a lawsuit on Lady Gaga for 30 million dollars claiming that he gave Gaga her name and made her who she is today. Lady gaga came back with a counter lawsuit for Rob for acting as her talent agent with no license to do so. Later in 2010 they both decide to drop their law suits on each other.

GAGA: Overexcited or irrational, typically as a result of infatuation or excessive enthusiasm, mentally confused, Senile

F- Fashion

Amen Fashion, On the runway, work it! Black Jesus. Lady Gaga is one of the biggest fashion icons of all time. Dresses made out of meat, latex,  to bubbles, and even dresses made of hair are just the beginning to her fashion legacy. From her hats and head dresses, her glasses, and of course her shoes she could only pull off, are all apart of who she is. She is as fearless as her image.

Lady Gaga is known to be always being wearing something far from normal. "If something is ugly, I have to wear it." She is known for wearing a lot of leather, latex, studs, and blood. When her career first started she came out with the infamous disco mask worn in Poker face. She has gone to drastic measures wearing a dress made out of bubbles, a meat dress,a dress made out of pearls, she even has a dress made out of Kermit the frog too. As most of her dresses are made by famous designers such as Alexander McQueen. The living dress is one of my all time favorite outfits worn by Gaga, the living dress was designed by Via Burnham. The living dress is able to move on it's own, the dress is run off of controls and pulley systems.

Lady Gaga is notoriously known for her love of hats/head dresses. In the picture above, she is wearing the red masquerade custom which her head is covered because that was after the Paparazzi has killed her. One of the most famous head dresses she wore was the birds nest designed by McQueen, it literally looks like a bird nest. She wears almost anything she can put on her head, from lobster hats, to horns, to telephones, and even the famous bow in her hair.

She has some of the most crazy shoes possible. All of her shoes are ridiculously tall and she still manages to preform in them and hardly fall. She has large platforms with no backs to them. Also her rounded heels she wore in Bad Romance.
She is her fashion and that is what she lives by.

E- Equality

Lady Gaga is one of the biggest super stars that pushes gay rights. "They say this country is free, and they say this country is equal but it is not equal if it is sometimes." "We need change!" Lady Gaga has spoken at Gay Rights rally and walked in many gay parades. She has many songs pushing towards equality. She also has donated a very large chunk of money to the gay community.

Lady Gaga circulates herself in a gay community, a very large percent of her fans are gay, most of her back up dancers are as well gay. In 2010 Lady Gaga brought four soldiers that were discharged because of their sexuality to the VMA'S. "Bless god and bless the gays!"
Lady Gaga would only allow Target to sell her album if they could step up their support in the gay rights movement, asking if they could donate a little more. Target never stepped up so she refuses to sell her albums there. Each stop on the Monster Ball Tour, Lady Gaga donated 20,000 dollars to a charity benefiting the  LGBTQ youth, a charity that creates a future.
Lady Gaga tells us all, to go after our local government and we can make a difference. "We must demand full equality for all."
Lady Gaga has written many songs promoting gay rights. Of course the biggest gay song she wrote is Born This way, encouraging everyone to just love everyone and to be yourself and love every part of it. Also, Alejandro that promoted gay rights in the army. Poker Face, Boys Boys Boys, Highway Unicorn, and Americano are also songs written about gay pride.

D- everything DISCO

The Disco stick is a prop that Gaga uses and has changed a little for each album. On The Fame Ball tour, Gaga used her first disco stick. It was a long pole with crystals on the top that glowed.
During The Monster Ball, Lady Gaga came out with a bigger, better, brighter disco stick. This time the pole was almost transparent, but also lighting up. The top of the disco stick had much larger crystals and it basically had it's own spotlight she could shine on any little monster.
In the Born this way tour she comes out with a very goth themed disco stick. It is all black, most likely leather. It has very large black crystals that almost look like daggers. The evolution of the Disco Stick is sure to keep changing with time.
"The ball is turning, 300 mirrors are burning, through the hearts of the crowd in the back hips just banging the track to the music." Gaga uses disco as one of her many themes. She has also incorporated disco into her music by the famous disco mask worn in Poker Face, one of her outfits looks like a disco ball, and her disco bra and panties.Lady Gaga even wrote a song called Disco Heaven, the lyrics above are from this song. Gaga started her career as a burlesque dancer where she first got into the disco theme.Gaga's first songs she recorded have a very disco theme to them. Disco is a big inspiration to her and a big part of her life as well.
